Law Firm Partners and Legal Administrators Join Together in Support of Pediatric Oncology Charity at Holiday Luncheon - 12/3

COSTA MESA, Calif., Nov. 22, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- A group of over 80 legal administrators and partners from some of the region's most respected law firms, including Managing Partner Jim McDonald of Fisher & Phillips LLP in Irvine, Managing Partner Kim Thompson from Rutan & Tucker in Costa Mesa, Managing Partner Andra Barmash Greene from Irell & Manella in Newport Beach, and Managing Partner Ruben Smith from AlvaradoSmith in Santa Ana, will assemble to hear motivational speaker and golfer Larry Alford II on his record 21-hole-in-ones and his experience overcoming adversity at the Orange County Chapter of the Association of Legal Administrators Holiday Luncheon for Law Firm Leaders, Center Club, Beethoven Room, 650 Town Center Drive, Costa Mesa, on December 3, 2013 from 11:30am-1:30pm.

A surprise amount over $10,000 from the fundraising efforts of the Orange County Chapter of the Association of Legal Administrators will be given to a charity providing support activities to pediatric cancer patients, the Orange County Foundation for Oncology Children and Families (OCF-OCF), a non-profit, grassroots, strictly volunteer organization with a 20-year history of providing support activities at no cost to pediatric cancer patients and their families. The total amount will be unveiled for the first time to OCF-OCF former executive directors Karen Jones, of Lake Forest, and Neil Barbour, of Santa Ana, both parents of children with cancer, attending the luncheon. Additionally, guests are anticipated to donate upwards of 100 toys and holiday gift cards to OCF-OCF.

OC-ALA Board President Connie Jedrzejewski, of Irvine, was inspired to support the charity after her husband David lost his battle with colon cancer in 2009. Says Jedrzejewski, "It is an honor for OC-ALA to support this very special nonprofit. I know firsthand the importance of quality family time with a loved one battling cancer and I am proud that OC-ALA can give assistance to these families."

Tickets are $45 for members and guests only. The event is not open to the public but media is invited to attend and cover.
