The Mobilitie DAS network will provide high-speed wireless connectivity and services to the arena's 2.5 million annual visitors at more than 220 world-class sporting events and concerts. "Mobilitie brings access to the latest wireless technology ensuring fans who come to Verizon Center games and events will stay connected and be able to run the latest mobile applications on their smartphones and mobile devices," said founder, chairman, majority owner and CEO of Monumental Sports & Entertainment Ted Leonsis. "Mobilitie brings a rare combination of technology leadership and experience in operating DAS networks at major sporting facilities across the country, and we're very pleased to partner with them to further enhance the wireless experience for all of our patrons."

Mobilitie owns and operates wireless infrastructure at many professional sports stadiums across the country, including some of the largest stadiums and arenas in the NFL, NBA, MLB and NHL. They also provide wireless infrastructure to marquee venues, such as Churchill Downs and the MGM Grand Garden Arena.

"We are pleased to be chosen as the DAS provider for Verizon Center," said president of Mobilitie Christos Karmis. "Our neutral-host, state-of-the-art network will be capable of providing high-speed wireless services across all carriers. We are looking forward to helping bring the latest 4G wireless technologies to Verizon Center that will enable the finest wireless experience to fans during the arena's highly attended athletic games, concerts and events."

Multiple wireless carriers will have improved service in the arena upon complete installation of the new DAS network, which is expected to be finished in the spring.
