Jamieson Ranch Vineyards Becomes First Napa Winery to Launch Wine-on-Tap Program

NAPA, Calif., Dec. 16, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Jamieson Ranch Vineyards has announced a first in Napa Valley hospitality, a full liter of craft wine in a stylishly branded, returnable, refillable and environmentally-friendly container. The most progressive winery development in recent years is wine-on-tap. Jamieson Ranch Cabernet Sauvignon, Reata Pinot Noir and Reata Chardonnay are now available on tap in select states and as well as at the winery, Jamieson Ranch Vineyards. "In my 40 year association with the wine industry, this is one of the most exciting innovations I've seen," comments Jamieson Ranch President Bill Leigon. "We're proud to do our part to lessen the environmental impact of this business."

Take away containers have been around a while, however wine growlers are a recent development and Jamieson Ranch Vineyards is among the first in America to offer to visitors this eco-friendly alterative when visiting the Napa Valley.  Each airtight wine-on-tap system amounts one less car on the road for two years, and will save in its lifetime 2,340 lbs. of trash from landfills.

A growler can be filled with any of the craft wines-on-tap at Jamieson Ranch Vineyards.  Currently customers may choose the 2011 JRV Double Lariat Cabernet Sauvignon, 2012 Reata Three County Pinot Noir or the 2012 Reata Carneros Chardonnay—all for $38 which includes the growler with the initial purchase.  When customers return to the winery for a refill it will cost only $19 for the Chardonnay and $22 for the Pinot Noir. JRV Cabernet will remain $38 (a $75 value).  Club members will receive a 50% off their first purchase and can return for refills at a discount.
