Caverion to implement electrical works at Opinmäki Campus in Espoo, Finland

Caverion has signed a contract concerning the electrical works for the Opinmäki Campus to be built in Suurpelto, Espoo, with SRV Construction Ltd. The value of the contract exceeds EUR 2 million.

The floor area of Opinmäki Campus is 16,700 m2, and it is the largest school project ever in Espoo. It is due for completion in summer 2015. Pupils will start their autumn semester 2015 in the new school.

The developer of the project is KOy Opinmäen Kampus, a limited liability company owned by the City of Espoo. SRV is responsible for the construction of the campus and design management in the implementation phase.

Opinmäki will feature Finnish and international primary schools for 1,000 pupils, early education facilities and a sports hall for the greater Matinkylä area. In addition, facilities for a library, adult education and youth activities will be built in Opinmäki. All of the premises at Opinmäki will serve local residents. Opinmäki is being designed as an exemplary site of comprehensive sustainable construction.

Suurpelto will become a new, innovative residential, education and business environment over the next ten years. Caverion is taking part in the construction of the area. The company has implemented and maintains a vacuum waste collection system, the first Envac waste collection system in a residential area in Finland, in the Suurpelto area. Opinmäki Campus will be connected to the system.
