PORT WASHINGTON, N.Y., Feb. 26, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- ACETO Corporation (Nasdaq:ACET), a global leader in the marketing, sale and distribution of products for Human Health, Pharmaceutical Ingredients and Performance Chemicals, today announced that it has appointed Carlos Restrepo as Senior Vice President, Performance Chemicals, effective February 24, 2014. Mr. Restrepo will report directly to Salvatore J. Guccione, CEO of ACETO.

"Carlos has previously led the operations of several chemical businesses in the United States, Germany, Singapore and Mexico. We believe that this deep experience makes him ideally suited to lead ACETO's Performance Chemicals team."
Mr. Restrepo, 51, spent eighteen years at International Specialty Products ("ISP"), now part of Ashland Inc., where he held various positions of increasing responsibility. Most recently, he served as Vice President, Intermediates and Solvents, leading the division's global business operations. Prior to this role, Mr. Restrepo spent almost seven years as Senior Vice President & General Manager, Industrial Chemicals and Elastomers, responsible for all aspects of the business. That role followed a four-year assignment in Germany as Vice President, Global Sales and Marketing, Industrial Chemicals. Earlier in his tenure at ISP, Mr. Restrepo also directed chemical businesses in Mexico and Singapore. Prior to ISP, he worked for ten years at Huntsman/Texaco Chemical and Dow Chemical in various sales, marketing and general management roles.
