NASDAQ OMX Educational Foundation Awards Grant to Midwest Finance Association

Supports 63rd Annual Conference for Academics and Finance Industry Professionals


ORLANDO, Fla., March 5, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Midwest Finance Association (MFA) announced today that they secured their first grant from the NASDAQ OMX Educational Foundation to support the MFA 63rd Annual Conference. MFA is a professional association of academics and finance industry professionals who are dedicated to developing and disseminating information concerning recent advances in financial theory and practice. The grant will be used to sponsor a portion of MFA's 63rd Annual Conference, which takes place on Friday, March 7th at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress Hotel in Orlando, Florida.

Since its establishment in 1951, MFA has hosted an annual conference that focuses on academic research on the latest topics in finance. This year, the conference is expected to draw about 500 finance professionals and will cover a wide range of topics including asset pricing, financial institutions and corporate finance. This year's keynote speakers include Professor Jay Ritter of the University of Florida; David Longworth: former Deputy Governor of the Bank of Canada; Professor Jeffrey Wurgler of New York University; and Professor Andrew Karolyi of Cornell University.
