Quality Carriers Expands Houston Presence

TAMPA, Fla., March 21, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Quality Carriers, Inc. ("Quality Carriers"), the leading North American bulk chemical carrier, has expanded its operations in the Houston market.

"The natural gas revolution in North America is dramatically impacting the domestic petrochemical industry. Our customers continue to expand in the Gulf region and have asked us to bring more capacity to the heart of this exciting market," stated Randy Strutz, President, Quality Carriers. "Last year, we added two new Houston area terminals in Pasadena and LaPorte, to complement our Channelview facility. We are now adding a 4th area terminal, located in Houston. We are excited to continue our expansion to meet the growing needs of our customers."

"As an independent affiliate of Quality Carriers, my team wanted to expand our I-10 corridor presence. With terminals in Louisiana and Alabama, opening in Houston gives us significant density in this core chemical market," commented Robert Warner, CEO, Gulf Coast Express.

Mr. Strutz concluded, "This is just another step in our efforts to expand our North American footprint to better service our North American customers and continue to improve Quality Carriers as a great destination for drivers. We highlighted our expansion plans at our February 27, 2014 Investor Day and plan to continue to share news as more locations come on-line."

Quality Carriers, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Quality Distribution, Inc. (Nasdaq:QLTY), operates the largest chemical bulk logistics network in North America. Quality Carrier's network of independent affiliates and independent owner-operators provides nationwide bulk transportation and related services. Quality Carriers is an American Chemistry Council Responsible Care® Partner and is a core carrier for many of the Fortune 500 companies that are engaged in chemical production and processing.
