Corporate Directors From Ace Hardware, CIGNA, National Children's Center, and Tory Burch Become NACD Fellows

NACD Fellows Showcase Their Commitment to Continuous Learning and Exemplary Leadership in the Boardroom

WASHINGTON, May 14, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) today announced its new class of NACD Fellows—the highest standard of credentialing for corporate directors. More than 60 corporate directors were recently named NACD Fellows, and these boardroom leaders demonstrate their commitment to continuous learning and exemplary board leadership.

The recent class of NACD Fellows serve on the boards of global public corporations, private companies, and nonprofits, including: Ace Hardware; CIGNA; DeVry Inc.; Make a Wish Foundation Suffolk NY: National Children's Center; Pioneer Energy Services; Scott's Liquid Gold; and Tory Burch.

NACD's Fellowship Program is a comprehensive program of study developed exclusively for corporate directors who strive to stay aware of and knowledgeable about leading boardroom practices and trends that shape today's corporate governance environment. Being part of an esteemed group of directors helps showcase a commitment to continuous learning and advancing leading boardroom practices. NACD's Fellowship Program enhances directors' skill sets and prepares them for current and emerging issues and opportunities while offering one of the only director credentialing programs in the corporate governance community.

"Recognition as an NACD Fellow translates my knowledge into a tangible credential," said John Bergstrom, director of Advance Auto Parts, Green Bay Packers, and Kimberly-Clark.

NACD Fellows represent hundreds of companies and provide a snapshot of the caliber of corporate directors engaged in continuous learning with NACD—the leading organization that identifies, interprets, and provides insights and information that boardroom leaders rely upon to apply their wisdom and knowledge and make sound strategic decisions.

"Directors who choose to enhance their skills and knowledge base by becoming NACD Fellows demonstrate to company management, shareholders, and their peers a desire to perform their fiduciary duties to the best of their abilities," said Ken Daly, president and CEO of NACD. "I am pleased to recognize these distinguished leaders who are dedicated to upholding the highest standards of governance."
