North America 3PL, LLC Enhances Operations with Descartes' OneView(TM) Warehouse Management System

WATERLOO, Ontario, June 3, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Descartes Systems Group (Nasdaq:DSGX) (TSX:DSG), the global leader in uniting logistics-intensive businesses in commerce, announced that North America 3PL LLC (NA3PL) is using Descartes' OneView Warehouse Management System (WMS) to automate and improve the efficiency of its Centralized Examination Station (CES).

NA3PL operates the CES that serves the Port of San Francisco/Oakland Seaport. A CES is a government authorized, privately operated facility where imported merchandise identified by US Customs & Border Protection (CBP) for physical examination is made available for inspection.

"Descartes' OneView WMS is a state of the art solution that provides us with the ability to better manage and track shipments as they move through our facility," said Clement Chin, Executive Partner for North America 3PL, LLC. "We chose Descartes because of the expertise of their team, understanding of our processes and requirements, and potential for rapid return-on-investment."

Descartes' OneView WMS enables users to effectively manage warehouse operations through enhanced visibility and control of all receiving, stocking, shipping and loading processes. It is capable of handling a broad variety of warehouse environments. At NA3PL, the solution's advanced integration engine enables incorporation of barcode scanning technology to automate tracking of all shipments entering the facility for examination and clearance.

"CES operators, like NA3PL, use Descartes' OneView WMS solution to help enable Customs to clear higher volumes of cargo in a timely fashion improving the flow of goods into the US," said Scott Sangster Vice President Global Logistics Network at Descartes. "We are pleased that our WMS solution supports NA3PL's efforts to make the cargo inspection process at the Oakland Seaport more productive and secure."
