InterDigital to Demo at Small Cells World Summit 2014 in London

WILMINGTON, Del., June 10, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- InterDigital, Inc. (Nasdaq:IDCC), a wireless research and development company, is showcasing its next generation small cells mobility network architecture at the Small Cells World Summit (stand 21) in London, June 10-12 at the ExCeL London Exhibition & Convention Centre.

InterDigital's demonstration includes an edge caching solution built onto its small cell network service delivery platform for operators to improve end users' QoE (Quality of Experience) and achieve significant user traffic offload from their core network. InterDigital's scalable and reliable mobility architecture targets both dense urban areas as well as remote, rural markets without single, centralized points of failure.

InterDigital will also demonstrate backhaul solutions for small cells in the 60GHz unlicensed bands, based on the 802.11 standard leveraging low cost WiGig (Wireless Gigabit) technology and directional mesh technology to enable self-discovery, mesh formation and high throughput.

Company representatives will also be on site at the booth to lead informational sessions aimed at educating attendees on evolving standards and innovation in small cells networks.
