Borussia Dortmund to open Singapore office

The Borussia Dortmund success story is well-known in Germany. And now, the
way Borussia Dortmund fought back from near-bankruptcy to establish
themselves in the UEFA Champions League with a thrilling brand of football
is earning more and more headlines in Asia too. Therefore, Borussia
Dortmund has decided to launch a Representative Office in Singapore. The
aim is to reach out to existing and potential BVB fans in the region,
nurture contact to local media and expand commercial partnerships.
"We are increasingly aware of a rapidly growing interest in BVB in Asia.
The bulk of our relevant foreign markets can be found in Southeast Asia in
particular. We remain convinced that a BVB Representative Office
in the region will intensify existing contacts in the long-term and enable
us to seal further partnerships," said sales and marketing director Carsten
Cramer.
Borussia Dortmund is already well-connected in Singapore through the main
club sponsor Evonik and kit supplier Puma, who coordinate their Southeast
Asia business from the city-state. The ambitious plan is to open the new
BVB office in Singapore in time for the start of the 2014/15 UEFA Champions
League season.
