Caverion to provide a total technical solution for office building in Stavanger, Norway

Caverion has been awarded a contract worth almost EUR 11 million to deliver a total technical solution for an office building in Stavanger, Norway. The agreement includes all technical systems in the property, including heating and sanitation, ventilation, air-conditioning, cooling, electricity, ICT, security and safety, and automation, among others.

In the project, Caverion is responsible for advisory services, design & engineering, project execution and project management. The work will start in the autumn of 2014, and is scheduled to be completed in June 2016.

The tenant of the building under construction will be the German petroleum company Wintershall. The building, covering 17,000 m² in six floors, will offer adaptable office facilities for 700 people. The general contractor is Kruse Smith.

"Caverion’s advanced technical solutions, like their own patented ClimaCeil, impressed the tenant,” says Roger Wiksnes, Project Manager at the Kruse Smith.

“It is important for Wintershall to be able to offer its employees modern and functional working environment with good indoor climate,” says Tron Bjelland Helgesen, Project Manager at Wintershall.

“We have paid attention to the entire life cycle of the building. The technical solutions are designed to be easily adapted to suit the property user’s changing needs. They also meet the criteria for the BREEAM-NOR standard, grade “Excellent”. Only three other office buildings in Norway have currently been awarded the grade “Excellent”,” says Developer at Caverion, Bjørn Eirik Bryne-Sandvik.

Energy efficiency in the property is secured by motion-controlled heating, ventilation and lighting systems and the ClimaCeil system developed by Caverion, which integrates all the technical systems needed in the office property in one single ceiling element. With ClimaCeil the user can for example adjust the power of airflow individually for each room. The building’s energy efficiency can be further boosted by pairing ClimaCeil with control and automation systems.
