Worlds Inc. vs. Activision Blizzard, Inc. Patent Infringement Markman Hearing Set for October

BOSTON, MA--(Marketwired - Jun 30, 2014) - The Markman Hearing for the patent infringement suit by Worlds Inc. (OTCBB: WDDD) against Activision Blizzard, Inc., Blizzard Entertainment, Inc. and Activision Publishing, Inc. (Activision Blizzard et al) (ATVI), has been set by the court for October 3, 2014. The date had been postponed from 2013 due to another unrelated court case and a countersuit by Activision Publishing, Inc., a subsidiary of Activision Blizzard, Inc., against Worlds Inc. and Worlds Online, Inc. (OTCBB: WORX) which was dismissed with prejudice in early June 2014.

"We are pleased that we can proceed with our patent infringement case and claim construction toward an eventual trial," said Thom Kidrin, CEO for Worlds Inc. "The Markman Hearing is a critical step in our suit against Activision Blizzard et al as it addresses the language and interpretation of the Worlds patents at issue in the case."

He added, "The recent Supreme Court ruling upholding software patents and clarifying what is patentable removes any doubts about the validity of Worlds' patents."
