Verde Resources Updates on Rare Earth Development

Committed to Developing a Portfolio of Mineral Exploration Projects

PAHANG, Malaysia, July 9, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- via PRWEB - Verde Resources, Inc. (OTCQB:VRDR) is pleased to report that it has initiated preliminary assessment on the potential of rare earth deposits in several countries in the South East Asia region. Verde's in-house engineering and technical team has engaged on an information-gathering exercise to analyze and determine the composition and economic viability of the current resources at potential sites that include Malaysia, Vietnam and Cambodia. Mr. M.D. Wu, President of Verde Resources, said, "The information gathered during the exploration phase will enable us to estimate the size and value of the deposit, and therefore, the commercial viability of the mine." SRK Consulting has also been engaged to assist Verde Resources with technical guidance for exploration and independent feasibility evaluation.

In addition to evaluating the mineral deposits, Verde Resources is also committed on the operational plans to solve problems that may affect the potential mine by performing environmental baseline study that forms an important part of the planning process necessary to acquire the relevant operating permits.

Mr. Wu concluded, "We are very optimistic with this unique opportunity for the potential development of a significant heavy rare earth supply in the South East Asia region. Verde is committed to developing a portfolio of mineral exploration projects outside of its current alluvial and lode gold activities, and will continue to focus on accelerating the development of rare earth opportunity."
