Intercollegiate Studies Institute Elects Two New Trustees

Hillsdale College's Larry Arnn, Heritage Foundation's Bridgett Wagner Join Board

WILMINGTON, Del., July 9, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Intercollegiate Studies Institute announced today that its Board of Trustees has welcomed two new members: Larry Arnn, president of Hillsdale College, and Bridgett Wagner, director of coalition relations at The Heritage Foundation.

"ISI is delighted to welcome these two accomplished leaders to its board," said ISI president Christopher Long. "Larry and Bridgett have long been friends of ISI, and their wise counsel will be invaluable to advancing ISI's mission of 'educating for liberty.' "

Long added: "ISI is also grateful for the opportunity to work in even closer partnership with Hillsdale College and The Heritage Foundation, both stalwart defenders of the principles of liberty. Larry leads a Hillsdale faculty that is full of ISI alumni, including at least ten products of the Institute's graduate fellowship program. And Bridgett joins a board that includes recently retired Heritage Foundation president and founder Edwin J. Feulner, another recipient of an ISI graduate fellowship."

Larry Arnn has served as president of Hillsdale College since 2000. Under his leadership, Hillsdale has increased the circulation of Imprimis, its monthly speech digest, to more than 2.5 million. He has also been a trailblazer in online education. Starting with "Constitution 101," Hillsdale's online courses have introduced hundreds of thousands of people to America's founding principles and our Western heritage. Arnn is the author of Liberty and Learning, The Founders' Key, and the forthcoming Churchill's Trial. He earned his MA and PhD in government from the Claremont Graduate School, where he studied with the assistance of a Richard M. Weaver Fellowship from ISI.

Bridgett Wagner serves as The Heritage Foundation's liaison to policy organizations, experts, and activists at the state, national, and international level. She advises other think tanks on ways to advance their policy prescriptions and builds support for Heritage's policy research agenda "beyond the Beltway." Wagner organizes Heritage's annual Resource Bank meeting, a gathering of hundreds of conservative groups from around the world to meet and discuss strategy. She also serves on the Board of Trustees of the University of Dallas and as a director of State Policy Network, the Foundation for Government Accountability, and the Dominican Foundation.

Arnn and Wagner join an ISI board that features sixteen other leaders from the fields of business, politics, journalism, and education, including six elected last year: the Honorable Pete du Pont, Michael Gleba, Ambassador Patricia L. Herbold, James Piereson, Dr. Ion Ratiu, and Marc Thiessen.
