UK COMPETITION AUTHORITY STARTS CONSULTATION ON ORDER TO BAN EUROTUNNEL’S FERRY ACTIVITIES

Copenhagen, 2014-07-23 17:47 CEST (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Announcement no. 51

Earlier today, the UK Competition & Markets Authority (CMA) started to consult on a draft order implementing the remedies as set out in the final decision to ban Eurotunnel from operating ferries from Dover. The deadline for responding to the consultation is 22 August 2014.

The CMA states that the final version of the order will not come into effect until the conclusion of any appeal proceedings that are launched at the Competition Appeal Tribunal (CAT).

The CMA is therefore proceeding with the four week consultation period from the issue of the draft order in parallel with the CAT appeal process.
