James D. Falaschi, Maria G. Hernandez, James Potter and Patricia Scates Appointed to Alameda Health System's Board of Trustees

Tracy Jensen Named City of Alameda's AHS Board Representative


OAKLAND, Calif., Sept. 16, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Alameda Health System (AHS) announced that James D. Falaschi, María G. Hernández, James Potter and Patricia Scates have been appointed to its Board of Trustees. Tracy Jensen has also been designated the AHS board representative from the City of Alameda Health Care District Board of Directors. Collectively, these board members provide more than 145 years worth of management experience stemming from local government, global operations, executive-level litigation, and banking.

Mr. Falaschi is a partner at Jack London Square Partners and the president of Transbay Holding Company, where he is in charge of property development for the company that owns office buildings and office parks. Additionally, he is the president of Falaschi Improvements, where he develops industrial parks and residential housing projects in Northern California and Downtown San Leandro, and is co-managing partner at Bay View Construction and Development Company that built 2,500 homes in Contra Costa and Alameda Counties.

Ms. Hernández currently serves as president of Impact4Health, a joint venture of InclusionINC and Visions, Inc., where she designed and developed The Healing Edge training initiative to improve health care team coordination, inclusive communications and collaboration for use by hospital clinical staff. She also holds the position of practice leader, global consulting services for InclusionINC, working with major clients including US Bank, ACT and Hospital Council of Central California. Her previous roles include managing director, western region of Global Novations, LLC and managing principal of MGH. She has won numerous professional honors including Outstanding Member of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce in Contra Costa County.

Mr. Potter most recently served as the senior vice president, general counsel and secretary at Del Monte Corporation, which involved advising the board of directors regarding audit, government developments and policy matters and also acting as the company's lead negotiator on major financings, contracts, and multi-billion dollar acquisitions. While at Del Monte, he was named one of the "20 Most Influential General Counsels in America" by the National Law Journal. He has also worked for Provident Mutual Life Insurance Company as their executive vice president, general counsel and secretary of their Executive Management Committee, and as chief legal officer for Prudential Insurance Company's Prudential Banks division.

Ms. Scates was a senior vice president at Wells Fargo, where she devoted 40 years of service. During her tenure at Wells Fargo, she led diversity outreach strategies that promoted inclusion in all aspects of the company. Other roles at Wells Fargo included senior vice president and regional manager for the East Bay Regional Commercial Banking Office serving Alameda and west Contra Costa counties, which involved providing credit facilities and treasury management services to middle market and corporate companies. She is currently a member of the Oakland Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and has served as port commissioner for the Port of Oakland and as a board member of the East Bay Economic Development Alliance for Business. Her corporate awards include the President's Award from the Urban Financial Services Coalition, among many others.

New AHS Board Representative from City of Alameda

Ms. Jensen is currently a director with the City of Alameda Health Care District Board, which oversees a $6 million parcel tax for Alameda Hospital's operations and long-term investments, and is co-chair of the District Board's Community Relations and Outreach Committee. She also works as a program analyst and senior services administrator with the City of Oakland's Department of Human Services, focused on identifying legislative and policy changes to improve services for senior residents such as the Oakland Senior Shuttle program.
