Woodside Animal Hospital Healing With Sound Therapy

ROYAL OAK, Mich., Sept. 21, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Woodside Animal Hospital's veterinarian offers holistic healing to Michigan pets using sound therapy, also known as infrasonic therapy or just sound therapy. Infrasonic therapy applies sound vibrations to the patient at a frequency which mimics the natural frequency broadcast by healthy cells. The veterinarian says this natural, holistic treatment has no negative side effects on animals, and has been shown to be quite effective in both providing relief from painful conditions and promoting healing. Infrasonic therapy can be used alone, in conjunction with traditional veterinary medicine, or in addition to other holistic treatments.

During a sound therapy session at Woodside Animal Hospital, Dr. John Simon applies sound waves resonating below human hearing ability to his patient. These sound waves vibrate within a range known as the alpha range (between eight and fourteen hertz). As everything in nature naturally emits sound waves, the alpha range mimics the particular sound vibrations regularly emitted by healthy cells in the tissue of living organisms. Sound therapy works by restoring this natural, healthy vibration to the patient's own cells, allowing them to function at an optimal level, encouraging healing and relieving pain with no negative side effects or discomfort.

"Sound waves exist all around us, and they interact with everything in the environment," said Dr. John Simon, owner and veterinarian at Woodside Animal Hospital. "Exposing a patient to waves within the healthy alpha range results in absolutely no negative side effects. I've treated all types of pets with infrasonic therapy: cats, dogs, birds, reptiles, and pocket pets. They have all, in fact, seemed to enjoy their sessions, relaxing throughout the therapy. I am just really pleased to be able to offer this alternative treatment option to pets."

Sound therapy, a treatment used in both veterinary and human medicine, has been shown to be an effective method of treatment, relieving painful symptoms and accelerating healing at the cellular level in patients. Dr. John Simon uses sound therapy to treat patients suffering from conditions such as sore muscles, inflammation (chronic or acute), limited range of motion, scar tissue, soft tissue injuries, intervertebral disc disease, arthritis, myositis, ligamentitis, and even internal organs with infection or disease. Most pets experience immediate relief from their symptoms, and seem to relax in the respite from their usual discomfort during infrasonic therapy sessions.

At Woodside Animal Hospital, Dr. John Simon practices both traditional and holistic veterinary medicine, offering pet owners more choices and alternatives. Dr. John Simon works with pet owners to develop preventative care, wellness care, and treatment care plans which include both holistic and traditional veterinary treatments from a large menu of services. Woodside Animal Hospital opened in 1960, and Dr. John Simon has been the owner and active veterinarian for over 25 years.
