NAHREP Bringing Industry Leaders, Professionals and Stars Together for Annual Conference Celebrating Hispanic Business and Culture

2014 NAHREP National Convention and Latin Music Festival to take place in Los Angeles, October 12-14, 2014

SAN DIEGO, Oct. 1, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals (NAHREP) is holding the 2014 NAHREP National Convention and Latin Music Festival just in time to close out National Hispanic Heritage Month, which runs from September 15th to October 15th. NAHREP is the leading trade association among Hispanics in the housing industry and is comprised of 21,000 members in 40 chapters around the United States. NAHREP's Annual Convention and Latin Music Festival is being held October 12-14, 2014 at the JW Marriott L.A. Live Hotel in Los Angeles. Approximately 2,500 participants are expected to attend the conference, which is focused on education, networking, awards programs and entertainment.

"Growth in the Hispanic real estate market continues to skyrocket," says Jason Madiedo, NAHREP's 2014 president.  "Latinos represent 56 percent of the total net growth in U.S. owner households and by 2020, one of every two new homebuyers will be of Hispanic heritage," he says, citing the 2013 NAHREP State of Hispanic Homeownership Report.  "This is a 'can't miss' event for everyone interested in learning more about doing business in this important market segment," he adds.

NAHREP's Annual Convention and Latin Music Festival will be attended by top real estate professionals from the Latino market, including those recognized in the 2014 NAHREP Top 250.  Many of these high performers will be sharing their tips for dealing with the vital Hispanic markets in the inaugural session of NAHREP Icons, a real estate coaching mastermind group aimed at sharing winning strategies.

The event will also feature the world premiere of "53 Million and One," a music-filled stage production that tells the story of one man's journey from southeastern Mexico to the Land of Opportunity, shining a light on the driving desire to succeed and the experiences of the more than 53 million Latinos who call America home.

Wells Fargo Bank is the title sponsor of the 2014 NAHREP National Convention & Latin Music Festival.  Noted speakers for the event include:

  • Jason Madiedo, CEO of Venta Financial and 2014 NAHREP president;
  • David Stevens, CEO of the Mortgage Bankers Association;
  • Bill Emerson, CEO of Quicken Loans;
  • Mark Willis, CEO of Keller Williams Realty;
  • Rick Davidson, CEO of Century 21 Real Estate;
  • Charo, renowned entertainer and real estate investor;
  • Nely Galan, prominent media entrepreneur, producer and television executive; and
  • Rick Najera, award-winning actor, comedian, writer, producer and director.

The inaugural Ernest J. Reyes Awards will be presented to Congressman Tony Cardenas (D-California), a strong advocate for sustainable homeownership and Latino issues, and Tanya Reu, senior vice president of Realogy Corporation and one of the highest ranking, most influential Latina real estate professionals in America.

Latino culture and homeownership are inseparable, says NAHREP CEO and Co-Founder Gary Acosta.  "Everything centers around the home, which is why two out of every three Hispanic families are working toward homeownership," he says.  "40 percent of Latino families are earning between $50,000 and $100,000 a year and are eager to buy homes.  By next year, Hispanics will represent $1.5 trillion in buying power," Acosta explains, "and that means mortgage and real estate professionals who desire to build their business will want to become educated about this tremendous market.  It's where the growth is."
