SSH changes CEO - Harri Koponen the new CEO of SSH Communications Security Corp

The Board of Directors of SSH Communications Security Corp have elected Harri Koponen, 51, eMBA, Dr. Econ. (h.c.), as the new Chief Executive Officer of SSH Communications Security Corp.  He will start on October 2, 2014.

Mr. Koponen has extensive experience from the technology sector.  He was most recently CEO of NPTV, a cloud-based interactive TV software company, board member at Stonesoft, a security software company that was acquired by McAfee for $389m in 2013, and prior to that COO of Rovio Entertainment, creating the global merchandising and licensing business of their Angry Birds brand.

Mr. Koponen has a vast global network in industry and government, having been President and CEO of three major telecoms Sonera (Finland), Wataniya (Kuwait), and Tele2 (Sweden).  He has also lived in the United States for several years as Managing Director of Sony Ericsson (North and Central America) and Head of Ericsson Consumer Products Division for North America.  Prior to that he worked as a global account executive for AirTouch, Vodafone, and Sonera at Ericsson, and in the early 1990s ran HP's telecom sales in Finland and globally for Sonera.

SSH's current CEO and founder Tatu Ylönen continues to work for the company full time in the role of Chief Innovation Officer, with responsibility for selected new product concepts, the company's intellectual property development and various other strategic initiatives.  Mr. Ylönen has also been nominated as the Chairman of the Board of SSH on October 2,2014.
