Ebix Inc. Announces Share Buyback Update


ATLANTA, Oct. 16, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Ebix, Inc. (Nasdaq:EBIX), a leading international supplier of On-Demand software and E-commerce services to the insurance, financial and healthcare industries, today reported an update to its earlier press release on 25th August 2014, regarding its stated intent to purchase $80 million of stock over the next 12 months.

The Company reported that it has repurchased 1,642,880 shares cumulatively since 1st August 2014, from the PlanetSoft shareholders and on the open market. The Company's diluted share count is now approximately 37 million shares. This share buyback includes 1,433,224 purchased from the open market and 209,656 shares from the PlanetSoft shareholders.

The Company also announced that it intends to continue with the share buyback over the next few years, with a plan to drive long-term value for its shareholders.

Shares of common stock may be purchased under the program from time to time on the open market and in privately negotiated transactions, subject to banking covenants and other customary legal, contractual and regulatory considerations. All share repurchases will continue to be done in accordance with Rule 10b-18 of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 with respect to the timing, pricing, and volume of such transactions.
