Tech Data's Ignite Event Focuses on Cisco Enablement and Business Growth for Solution Providers

CLEARWATER, Fla., Nov. 14, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Tech Data Corporation (Nasdaq:TECD) hosted its fifth annual Ignite event, the company's exclusive Cisco business-building program, on November 11-13, 2014 at the Moon Palace Golf & Spa Resort in Cancun, Mexico. Channel partners from the United States, Canada and Latin America were in attendance to learn new ways to optimize Cisco business opportunities in the IT channel.

"Tech Data's fifth annual Ignite event delivered outstanding results for our channel partners, providing them with real-time business plans to successfully build upon their Cisco practice," said Angie Beltz, vice president, Product Marketing, Cisco Solutions Group at Tech Data. "Through Ignite and our dedicated Cisco team, Tech Data is offering partners world-class exclusive business-building programs and award-winning enablement tools to help our channel partners thrive."

The event included education breakout sessions and business-building opportunities focused on Cisco enablement and training. At the event, solution providers had the opportunity to engage in strategic networking opportunities with Cisco, peers, and Tech Data representatives, including hands-on technology training, certification planning, and marketing and sales strategies. Additionally, solution providers who attended the event were given one-on-one consultations by Tech Data's team of experts in order to create a customized business plan—optimizing the company's award-winning program and tools.

Attendees at the Cisco Ignite heard from featured speakers including Josh Linkner, New York Times bestselling author, entrepreneur and venture capitalist; Polly LaBarre, bestselling author of Mavericks at Work: Why the Most Original Minds in Business Win; and Joe Quaglia, President of the Americas at Tech Data. At the event, attendees also had the opportunity to hear from Tech Data's credit team and gained a CEO's perspective on sustainable and profitable growth during former solution provider CEO Frank Albi's informative session.

"The Ignite conference has been a huge success," said Michael Dunn, Technical Solution Architect at Netsecure. "We are very excited about the relationships that have been established as well as the various speakers. Each speaker brought an important and unique perspective that we will be able to utilize going forward. We look forward to the upcoming year and further relationship-building to continue growing our business with Tech Data."

For the Ignite Conference, channel partners raised more than $7,000 for Girls Inc. Pinellas, a nonprofit organization dedicated to offering young women academic enrichment and support programs, life skills instruction, and activities focused on healthy living.
