EASTAMPTON, N.J., Nov. 20, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Epicore BioNetworks Inc. is pleased to announce the appointment of a new Southeast Asia (SEA) Aquaculture Regional Manager, Fernando Castro Talero. The appointment reflects Epicore's commitment to the region and will significantly improve technical support of our distribution network and our SEA end customers. This is an important step toward creating an operational base in Asia similar to our strong base in Ecuador. Fernando Castro has the experience and leadership skills to help Epicore and our distributors expand our SEA business.
Fernando has a degree in aquaculture from the Florida Institute of Technology and over thirty-four years of work experience in the shrimp Industry. He has extensive worldwide experience in the design, construction and operation of shrimp hatchery projects. His experience covers six different species of marine shrimp in nine different countries.
Fernando was one of the pioneers of the shrimp aquaculture industry in Ecuador, Latin America and other countries. He has comprehensive knowledge of disease, genetics and shrimp health issues. He has implemented genetic and biosecurity programs in hatchery operations. He has practical knowledge in the design and installation of state of the art seawater treatment and filtration systems.
Fernando has been an Epicore customer for over eighteen years. His hands-on experience will significantly benefit our SEA customer base. We anticipate that our customer focused, value added marketing approach will be well received by Asian P. vannamei producers and we expect that Fernando will help SEA customers find solutions to industry problems.
