WireIE Celebrates Strong 2014 Company Growth

Grows On-Net Footprint 196%, Outperforms Network Reliability Goals and Exceeds CSR Targets

TORONTO, ON--(Marketwired - Dec 10, 2014) - WireIE, a licensed wholesale carrier specialized in the development of Carrier Ethernet networks to Canada's underserved markets, is pleased to announce an extraordinary year of results in 2014. With its network and staff having delivered consistent and sustainable performance for both existing customers and a growing roster of new ones, WireIE was able to deploy and expand its on-net footprint more than 196% throughout the year.

WireIE's expertise in providing fast and reliable networks is unmatched. Using a hybrid approach based on fiber and digital radio, WireIE delivers high-availability networks to underserved markets across Canada with a minimum 99.9% service availability.

WireIE prides itself on its "anytime, anywhere networks" mentality. The 2013-2014 period saw many extreme weather events and challenges, which WireIE's networks not only endured, but prospered through. Through extreme ice and snow in the winter and a voracious fire season in summer, WireIE's networks exhibited strong, reliable performance, with not a single outage for any customer. Capacity Magazine awarded WireIE's highly reliable network the 2014 Metro Connect Award for Best Rural Connectivity.

Most global carriers, including WireIE's customers and partners, define minimum Carrier Ethernet network performance measurements via service level agreements (SLAs). WireIE met and even exceeded many of these key SLA performance metrics in 2014, including:

  • 99.97% network availability (corporate target: 99.9%)
  • 2.41 hours Mean Time to Repair (MTTR) (corporate target: ≤8 hours)
  • 4.4 millisecond one-way latency (corporate target: ≤35ms)
  • 0.11% packet loss (corporate target: ≤0.5%)

In addition to excellent 2014 service performance, WireIE also celebrates strong accomplishments for Corporate Social Responsibility in 2014. The company recently won Capacity Magazine's Global Carrier Award for Corporate Social Responsibility. In addition, the company successfully organized its third annual Hope Classic Golf Tournament this summer and supported the 10th Annual Gala Dinner and Auction for Hope Air, a charity WireIE has supported for years.

"Since its inception in 2007, the WireIE team has worked hard to continuously outperform our goals," says Rob Barlow, Chief Executive Officer of WireIE. "2014 has been a particularly stellar year for us. As we celebrate our accomplishments for 2014, we are also looking ahead to next year. With a great team behind me, I can enthusiastically say: expect more great things from WireIE."
