WASHINGTON, Feb. 10, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC) congratulates Jay Shipowitz, Chief Executive Officer of ACE Cash Express, on his new appointment as Chairman of the National Board of Directors for Back on My Feet. Back on My Feet is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting the self-sufficiency and empowerment of the homeless through running, financial literacy, and job search skills.

Founded in 2007, Back on My Feet uses running to help the homeless gain confidence that will change the trajectory of their lives. Operating in 11 cities nationwide, participants in the program are given access to self-sufficiency programs such as financial literacy and job-search skills, along with aid in finding permanent housing. Through the organization's programming, 46% of participants have found employment, housing, or both.
Jay Shipowitz has served on the National Board of Directors of Back on My Feet for the last three and a half years. Under his leadership, ACE Cash Express has provided the program's participants with financial literacy training through the ACE Financial Fitness curriculum.
