ST. LOUIS, March 3, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Join us 9:30 p.m. Friday, April 3, as Ruf Recording artist, Devon Allman officially comes home to "his house," the Bottleneck Blues Bar (BBB) at Ameristar Casino Resort Spa St. Charles, Missouri. This popular venue just received a complete makeover to its sound and audio-visual equipment with Allman's seal of approval. "This is now a seriously killer music venue – dripping with mojo; perfect for all things bluesy," said Allman. "The sound system and the set-up are incredible. I want St. Louis' serious music lovers to think, 'If it's Friday night, I'll be in Devon's House listening to the Blues.'"

A longtime resident of the Gateway City, Allman cut his chops at the local bars and clubs with bands like Honeytribe and working at the local Guitar Center store. Over the years, he bounced around from city to city, crisscrossing the country exploring new musical avenues, but always calling St. Louis "home."

After meeting his father, Gregg, he went on the road with The Allman Brothers Band for their reunion tour. In 1999, he formed Honeytribe with some local musicians and performed with them over multiple albums and music tours that led them around the world. Over the past four years, he has juggled duties between his solo work and Royal Southern Brotherhood, a combo group with Cyril Neville of The Neville Brothers and Mike Zito - another St. Louis native. The group set the blues world on fire with its self-titled 2012 release. The group toured all over the world, garnering a lot of media attention and won a Blues Music Award for Best Live CD/DVD in 2014.

In October 2014 he released Ragged & Dirty, an artful blend of blues, rock and soul debuting at #4 on the Billboard Blues Charts. Just recently he was profiled in the Holy Grail magazine for all guitarists, Guitar Player.

Allman will be coming home to perform in the BBB every three months; and alternating the Friday night performances of national artists like Moreland & Arbuckle, Nikki Hill, Mike Zito, John Nemeth, Lil' Ed & the Blues Imperials and Jarekus Singleton, with local St. Louis Blues artists.

"It's like this room has been waiting for Devon to bring the blues back home to St. Louis, where the legends of blues got their start," said Ward Shaw, Ameristar's Vice President and General Manager. "Devon has long been popular locally, and we're excited that the rest of the country is catching on to his talent. We can't wait to bring him home and to have him perform in a venue that was built for Devon and the Blues."

General admission tickets for The Devon Allman Band and National Acts are $15 (tickets for local acts are $5), and can be purchased by visiting www.ticketmaster.com or at the door (if tickets are still available). Guests must be 21 years of age and present a valid photo ID. The doors open at 7 p.m.; artists take the stage at 9:30 p.m.

"I am so excited to have my own weekly Blues night at this re-vamped venue," added Allman. "We will be bringing in the best national and local blues talent, most of whom are my friends. See y'all at the Bottleneck!"
