MONTGOMERY, Ala., March 6, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Officials and the board of directors from the Montgomery Regional Airport, and officials with Air Launch, LLC, unveiled the airport's redesigned baggage claim on Wednesday, March 4, 2015, days prior to the events commemorating the 50th anniversary of Selma-to-Montgomery march.
The baggage claim area was completely re-envisioned and features new column designs welcoming visitors in five different languages, along with a mural map highlighting major landmarks and attractions within the River Region. Additionally, several key facts about Montgomery and the River Region are highlighted throughout the room.
The redesign is the first phase in an overall new look for the airport terminal. The custom wall graphics were provided by Copperwing Design and custom photography by Robert Fouts.
The updated graphics highlight downtown Montgomery and area landmarks helping to draw attention to the relations between the Montgomery Regional Airport and the River Region. Creative elements incorporated within the baggage claim graphics represent river waves and river rocks, reflecting the importance of the Alabama River to the overall River Region economy and attractions.
