Drone Aviation Selected to Exhibit at SOFIC 2015, The Defense Industry's Premier Technology Exhibition

Company to Present WATT and WASP Tethered Drone Systems for Government and Military Attendees

JACKSONVILLE, Fla., March 9, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Drone Aviation Holding Corp. (OTCQB:DRNE), a developer of specialized lighter-than-air aerostats and tethered drones, today announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Drone Aviation Corp. (DAC), been selected as a new exhibitor for the 2015 Special Operations Forces Industry Conference (SOFIC), to be held at the Tampa Convention Center in Tampa, FL from May 19, 2015 through May 21, 2015.

SOFIC is the defense industry's premier event, focusing on advancing defense industry technology solutions and building the global SOF alliance, attracting over 9,000 government and industry attendees. DAC will be presenting its lighter-than-air WASP tactical aerostat system and WATT, its newest electric tethered drone. The WASP and WATT are intended to provide semi-persistent, mobile intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance ("ISR") for various applications. DAC was selected via a competitive application process as one of 30 first time exhibitors for the 2015 event.

"More than ever, developments unfolding at home and abroad require today's armed forces to have access to real-time, cost-effective mobile intelligence, surveillance and communications without putting solders in harm's way, challenges uniquely addressed by our tethered drone technology," stated Felicia Hess, CEO of Drone Aviation Holding Corp. "Being selected to present at the SOFIC 2015 event is a milestone for DAC, allowing us the opportunity to showcase how our low cost tethered solutions can serve as a force multiplier without the cost and complexity associated with today's in-theater ISR solutions."

DAC develops and manufactures a portfolio of tethered aerial monitoring platforms including the WASP aerostat and WATT drone product lines. Both solutions utilize a secure, high strength tether line which remains connected to the ground. Each system can provide low cost, mobile ISR for hours, days, weeks or months. With the WASP, a mobile, tactical, turn-key aerostat system capable of carrying a variety of payloads in support of military operations in the field, troops gain a tactical edge allowing them to communicate over greater distances for prolonged operations. WATT is a complete turn-key system that can be launched within minutes of unpacking from a standard case stored in a host vehicle. When launched, WATT is designed to hover in a stationary position directly above its launch site at one of several preset altitudes of up to 300 feet. Once airborne, a highly stabilized military-grade/broadcast quality HD video imager can provide a 360° live aerial monitoring feed transmitted through the tether to its host vehicle while being wirelessly shared to a network of mobile devices such as tablets or laptop computers.

DAC systems have successfully participated in a series of U.S. Army Network Integration Experiments (NIEs) following deliveries to various Department of Defense customers including the U.S Army Space & Missile Defense Command (SMDC), the U.S. Army Rapid Equipping Force (REF), the Joint Improvised Explosive Device Defeat Organization (JIEDDO) and is undergoing troop training and rotational exercises at Folk Polk, LA. DAC was included in the U.S. General Services Administration ("GSA") Schedule through its existing distributor relationship with U.S. government prime contractor ADS Inc. ("ADS"). The GSA listing allows government customers to directly negotiate and acquire products and services from commercially-listed suppliers.
