InterDigital to Present at First Cambridge Wireless Technology Engineering Conference

WILMINGTON, Del., March 23, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- InterDigital, Inc. (Nasdaq:IDCC), a mobile technology research and development company, today announced that Alan Carlton, Vice President, InterDigital Europe, will present at the inaugural Cambridge Wireless Technology Engineering Conference (CW TEC) on March 24, 2015.

The London-based conference – "Integrate or differentiate? The future of mobile, satellite, TV, IoT and wearable technology and its impact on spectral value" – will offer debate and analysis of the current trends of industry growth and device proliferation and diversity, and the impact on the industry and on the finite resource of spectrum.

Mr. Carlton leads InterDigital Europe, based in London, which is focused on development of 5G and IoT technologies. InterDigital Europe recently announced that it had received funding for two key projects related to Horizon 2020, a key European project focused on driving new technologies.

The event's agenda comprises four R&D-focused sessions. In Session 1, "Terrestrial and satellite integration – a key part of the 4G to 5G transition?" Mr. Carlton plans to discuss some of the key elements that will shape the transition from 4G to 5G. Other sessions at the conference, which InterDigital is sponsoring, touch on topics like Wi-Fi and low earth orbit satellites, terrestrial broadcasting and mobile broadband, and machine-to-machine and wearable connectivity.

"Cambridge Wireless brings together some of the leading technologists in industry and academia, and aligns perfectly with InterDigital Europe's mission of driving future technologies and fostering collaboration in the segment," said Mr. Carlton. "CW TEC provides us with the opportunity to join other industry experts in the debate around the future of technical choices."
