Pepco Holdings, Duke Energy and Gulf Power Recognized as Winners of Inaugural Comverge Client Excellence Awards


ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., April 10, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Comverge Inc., the leading provider of demand management solutions for electric utilities, today announced that Pepco Holdings, Inc. and individuals from Duke Energy and Gulf Power were the recipients of the first-ever Comverge Client Excellence Awards. The awards were given out at the 2015 Comverge Utility Conference for three different categories:

  • Demand Management Program of the Year – Recognizes excellence in program delivery and results.

Winner: Pepco Holdings, Inc. Energy Wise Rewards, a demand response program targeting residential and small business customers. The program has delivered impressive recruitment results, with more than 340,000 participants enrolled in the program, including approximately fifty percent of eligible customers in the Pepco Maryland territory.

  • Individual Achievement – Recognizes an individual's accomplishments over the last 12-18 months.

Winner: Paul Rice, Lead Product Developer, Duke Energy. Mr. Rice was given this award for his vision for the Duke Ohio HōM Energy Manager integrated demand response and energy efficiency program and for his contributions to the development of Comverge's customer engagement portal.

  • Lifetime Achievement Recognizes an individual's long-term contributions to the demand management industry.

Winner: David Eggart, Energy Efficiency Supervisor, Gulf Power Company. Launched more than 15 years ago, Gulf Power Company's award-winning Energy Select program was the first fully-automated critical-peak pricing program in the country. Acting as program manager for Energy Select, Mr. Eggart has been instrumental in the success of the program and keeping it updated with three generations of new Comverge software and hardware. The program has been a success for Gulf Power Company, achieving customer satisfaction rates as high as 95 percent.
