Four Outstanding Upstate N.Y. Physicians Honored

ALBANY, N.Y., April 13, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Service beyond the doctor's office – that is what this year's CDPHP Physicians' Academy inductees have contributed to the local community and around the world.

From the battlefield in the Middle East to the streets of Arbor Hill, four local physicians are making a difference and leaving a lasting impact in the fields of pediatrics, nephrology, gastroenterology, and family medicine. Now, these dedicated doctors are being recognized by their peers.

Created in 2004, the CDPHP Physicians' Academy recognizes extraordinary physicians who are nominated by their peers and selected by an esteemed panel of CDPHP Board and Physicians' Academy members. The honorees are selected for their delivery of high-quality care, development and observance of best practices, and their willingness to mentor colleagues and staff.

"Each of this year's honorees has a passion for their field and an unwavering dedication to providing the best care for their patients," said John D. Bennett, MD, president and CEO, CDPHP. "In addition, these physicians serve as educators, mentors, and role models. It is a pleasure to induct this outstanding group of physicians into the Academy."

Since the Academy's inception, and under the leadership of its dean, Anthony Tartaglia, MD, CDPHP has inducted dozens of local physicians from a variety of specialties.
