Innovative ULE-OSGi Solution From DSP Group, ProSyst and GreenPocket Meets Growing IoT Market Demands

Companies Introduce a Robust and Comprehensive IoT Solution Based on the ULE Standard in an OSGi Environment

LOS ALTOS, Calif., May 19, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- DSP Group (Nasdaq:DSPG), a leading global provider of wireless chipset solutions, ProSyst (a Bosch Software company), a leading provider of OSGi and open standards-based Internet of Things (IoT) middleware for Smart Home, Smart Energy and other vertical markets, and GreenPocket, a leading software provider of intuitive and elegant IoT user interfaces, collaborated to introduce a end-to-end, node to cloud IoT solution. The partners integrated GreenPocket's Connected Home IoT cloud management system with ProSyst's mBS OSGi technology framework, utilizing DSP Group's Ultra Low Energy (ULE) short range RF solution. The resulting solution will address the growing demand for OSGi cloud-based management IoT systems.

The new platform consists of DSP Group's ULE, HAN-FUN standard compliant DHX91 solution, which is suitable for low power battery-operated IoT end points as well as AC power nodes. It also integrates DSP Group's DCX81 solution for gateways (Hubs), managing ULE nodes as well as providing telephony service. ProSyst's mBS OSGi is integrated in the gateway, providing local management and easy connectivity to the service provider. Finally, GreenPocket's cloud management solution offers a state-of-the-art user interface for IoT applications with in the house, simplifying user interaction with the system and enabling easy creation of rules and scenarios.

The collaboration offers uniquely fast time-to-market for operators and services providers intending to address IoT market.

"It is a great opportunity to work with DSP Group, the market leader for ULE and DECT solutions, and to continue our mutual work with ProSyst, the OSGi middleware leader. Operators and service providers will be able to utilize our joint solution to reach the market faster, invest less in R&D and other resources, while bringing a robust IoT solution to their subscribers," said Dr. Thomas Goette, CEO at GreenPocket. "We see it as a first step in our three-way partnership and are already working on future, innovative applications and solutions for the IoT market around ULE, a technology that truly offers benefits beyond mere signaling connectivity," he continued.

"Continuing our long-term collaboration with DSP Group and its innovative ULE solution, we see a strong trend of OSGi adaptation by service providers and operators worldwide. Binding OSGi with the right RF technology and the right UI is a winning factor for mass-market acceptance and consumer uptake," said Daniel Schellhoss, Executive VP at ProSyst. "Our OSGi platform together with GreenPocket's cloud-based management systems helps speed operator time to market. Add in the many benefits of ULE, and we get a truly unique value proposition," he added.

"DSP Group is happy to further expand its ULE ecosystem with GreenPocket. The ongoing collaboration with ProSyst and the new collaboration with GreenPocket offers more ways for service providers to take ULE-based IoT a step forward," said Raz Kivelevich-Carmi, Vice President of Marketing and Business Development at DSP Group. "We've seen strong demand from existing and new customers for OSGi solutions, and this collaboration is our answer to market demand. IoT offerings are ramping up quickly, and ULE's dedicated spectrum, super long range and voice-enhanced capabilities - voice interaction, voice analytics and voice communication – are what will help differentiate extraordinary solutions from the ordinary," he concluded.

The system will be showcased at the DECT World Summit 2015 exhibition in Barcelona in DSP Group's private room
