Students To Save Thousands with City Vision University and Saylor Academy Partnership

Students can earn up to 30 college credits and save one year of tuition

WASHINGTON, May 21, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- City Vision University, an accredited online university based in Kansas City, Missouri, has partnered with Saylor Academy to recognize up to 30 college credits for the tuition-free courses in the "Saylor Direct" program. This agreement can save students of City Vision University a full year of tuition, currently $6,000.

Students who complete the free online courses in the Saylor Direct program and pass proctored exams, also through Saylor Academy, may transfer up to 30 credits to City Vision University toward a Bachelor's degree in Addiction Studies, Nonprofit Management or Urban Missions. Modest proctoring fees apply for the exams, but Saylor Academy courses have no tuition, books, or materials fees. Students can begin a Saylor course at any time and work at a comfortable pace.

By earning credits through the Saylor Direct program, students can save an entire year of tuition, $6,000 for United States residents, at City Vision University. For the remaining years of schoolwork, any student eligible for the Pell Grant can have their full tuition covered by the grant.

City Vision University's reach extends far beyond Kansas City and beyond national boundaries. International students are also eligible to earn up to a year's worth of college credit through Saylor Direct courses, completing the remaining three years of their degree with City Vision University. Students from developing nations (as classified by the IMF) can enjoy a 50% tuition discount.

"We are excited to partner with City Vision to help them further their mission of providing quality and affordable distance learning to students around the world," says Jeff Davidson, Director of Strategic Relationships for Saylor Academy.

City Vision joins eleven other Saylor Academy partner schools that have committed to recognize Saylor Academy coursework for substantial, affordable college credit.
