Smart Card Alliance Annual Member Meeting Brings Cross-Industry Perspectives Together on Smart Cards and Applications

Members and Their Guests Will Focus on Advances in Smart Card Technology Usage in Payments, Mobile, Transportation, Retail, Identity and Healthcare Markets


PRINCETON JUNCTION, N.J., Aug. 24, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Smart Card Alliance encourages its members and their invited guests to attend a comprehensive industry conference on October 4-6 at the Arizona Grand Resort in Phoenix. The two-day conference will feature plenary keynote speakers and panels covering key industry trends and activities, concurrent Industry Council-led breakout sessions on topics affecting specific smart card and mobile market segments and cross-industry market trends, and ample networking opportunities.

  • Identity: "Strong Multi-Factor Authentication." A presentation on the state of authentication, the main vulnerabilities that exist, introduce options for strengthening authentication and the challenges faced when increasing authentication requirements to higher levels.
     
  • Mobile Payment: "Mobile Payments Landscape." A discussion of the current status of and trends for deployments and adoption of mobile payments, including all types of approaches (NFC, QR codes, in-app and beacons).

The evolution of EMV chip technology in Latin America and its opportunities for convergence for mobile, city cards, social benefits cards, financial inclusion, open payments, government ID and other applications. 
     
  • Transit Payment: "EMV for Transit, Parking and Tolling." The challenges facing the transportation industry to comply with the EMV standard and other mobile solutions.  
     
  • Healthcare: A Health and Human Services Council roundtable will incorporate trends, analysis and updates on the impact of data breaches on healthcare IT.
