Church of Scientology Volunteers Bring "Happiness" to Clearwater Beach

CLEARWATER, Fla., Sept. 03, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- On Sunday the 30th of August, dozens of Scientology volunteers distributed more than 400 booklets of “The Way To Happiness: A Common Sense Guide to Better Living” on Clearwater’s Beach promenade to local residents and visitors.

“The Way To Happiness: A Common Sense Guide to Better Living” was written by author, humanitarian and Scientology Founder L. Ron Hubbard in 1981 to address increasing social problems of dishonesty and immorality in the forms of rampant crime, drug abuse, corporate greed and international conflict.

The volunteers consisted of English and Spanish speaking Clearwater residents. This event followed the prior week’s door-to-door distribution of The Way To Happiness booklets in 1,500 households of the North Greenwood community in Clearwater.

Pat Harney, the Public Relations Director for the Church, said, “The message of the book is very simple—it is possible to be happy—and I think that resonates with people.”

“The Way to Happiness has been successfully used in Columbia, Palestine, Israel, other countries, Compton, California and other US cities and to reduce crime and bring peace,” continued Mrs. Harney “We’d like to see that in Clearwater.”
