NEW YORK, Sept. 14, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The National Law Journal has unveiled its 2015 D.C. Rising Stars, an annual list of 40 influential D.C.-based lawyers from private firms, corporate counsel, government and non-profit/advocacy under the age of 40. The honorees were selected from almost 190 applications and represent a diverse cross-section of high achieving legal professionals. The full list appears in The National Law Journal's September 14th issue and online at http://at.alm.com/DCRisingStars.

The honorees will be recognized at The National Law Journal's "40 Under 40" event to be held at The Mayflower in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday, November 10.

"The legal professionals on this year's list truly represent D.C.'s up-and-coming legal elite," said Kenneth Gary, publisher of The National Law Journal. "This is our most diverse group of honorees to date in terms of gender, race and ethnicity, which is a positive reflection of the strides the industry is making in this area."

Rising Stars program recognizes the region's lawyers who have wielded influence in their practice areas in the Washington, D.C. area and beyond. The 40 finalists were selected for being innovators in their fields, developing unique practice niches, amassing robust books of business, demonstrating strong leadership qualities, showing expertise in litigation or transactional work and committing themselves to pro bono, charitable and professional volunteer work.
