Peter Scolari of HBO's "Girls" and Fox's "Gotham" challenges 'bosom buddy' Tom Hanks to Dance for Kindness

Viral video dare launches awareness campaign for international Dance for Kindness event on Nov. 8.

NEW YORK, Sept. 27, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Peter Scolari of HBO's "Girls" and Fox TV's' "Gotham" has signed on as a celebrity ambassador for Life Vest Inside's Dance For Kindness campaign and has challenged his Hollywood friends Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson to take the DFK Dance Dare.

Started by Life Vest Inside Founder Orly Wahba, The Dance Dare (#DFKDanceDare) challenges participants to show the world how kindness moves them with a few seconds of inspired dance.

Scolari's challenge of longtime friend Tom Hanks in a viral dare similar to the ALS ice-bucket challenge marks the launch of an awareness campaign that will culminate in Life Vest Inside's 4th annual worldwide Dance for Kindness Day which takes place in over 30 countries on November 8, 2015 at 2 p.m.

Scolari will host the YouTube broadcast of the flagship DFK event from Times Square in New York City. The event will feature groups from across the globe joining together to perform a Kindness Freezmob/Flashmob to the same song, same dance, all happening on the same day.

"(Life Vest Inside)"… has created a worldwide movement of understanding, compassion, and universal participation in one of the most spectacular demonstrations of unity and expression this generation has ever seen," said Scolari.

Information on how to participate in the DFK Dance Dare is available through the event website at DanceforKindness.com. The best videos submitted will be posted on the site, social media channels, and will also be featured on the Times Square billboard on Nov. 8.

The Scolari / Hanks video challenge can be viewed on YouTube.
