IKANOW Names Manoj Srivastava Vice President of Engineering

Supports Rapid Information Security Analytics Platform Growth With Industry Leading Talent

RESTON, Va., Sept. 30, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- via PRWEB - IKANOW, a leading information security analytics provider, today announced that Manoj Srivastava has been appointed vice president of engineering as part of an expansion of it's senior leadership team. Srivastava's appointment is effective immediately.

In his new role, Srivastava is responsible for managing and directing all technical engineering work for IKANOW's open source Community Edition and Enterprise Edition information security analytics platforms. This includes strategic development and execution in tight coordination with IKANOW's product development team. He will report to Dave Camarata, co-founder and chief executive officer.

"We welcome Manoj to IKANOW," said Dave Camarata, co-founder and chief executive officer of IKANOW. "Manoj's deep expertise leading engineering in cyber security and big data make him well-suited to help take IKANOW forward as we rescue Fortune1000 companies from the constant deluge of cyber security threats they face."

Srivastava brings 20 years of industry experience in cyber security, big data, and cloud computing to his new role. He has a track record of building high performance teams, implementing plans from initial concept through production, and scaling-up operations.

"I'm excited to join a dynamic, growing cyber security organization," said Srivastava. "Robust security analytics is imperative in proactively improving cyber security. I look forward to working with the team to support an industry-leading, high-performance security analytics platform at such a critical time for cyber security."

Srivastava joins IKANOW from Graphus, a company he co-founded to deliver cutting edge cyber security solutions in a Software as a Service model. Prior to Graphus, he was vice president of product and chief technology officer (CTO) at CyberIQ Services. In this role, he led the product vision and development of the company's cyber threat analytics platform. Previously, Srivastava served as vice president of engineering and CTO at Cyveillance, a provider of cyber threat intelligence to Fortune 500 companies.

"Only by taking control of all of the data available are CISOs empowered to identify, prioritize and defeat threats to their network," added Camarata. "IKANOW's unique approach, based on open-source technology, takes the mismatched, unintelligible masses of threat data and enables decisive action to protect the network. Manoj's expertise will continue to support the rapid growth of our platform in both users and advanced capabilities."

The vast amount of security information now available requires a new approach to cybersecurity that leverages innovative big data management, correlation and visualization technologies. These approaches allow for enterprises to customize a proactive response to security threats based on their own networks, internal network data and signals from external data sources such as threat intelligence or social media. Gartner expects that security spending will increase 4.7 percent year-over-year in 2015 to $75.4 billion in 2015 as a result of government initiatives, increased legislation and high-profile data breaches.

Srivastava will be based in IKANOW's Reston, Va. headquarters.
