WASHINGTON, Oct. 1, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Ambassador John Bolton endorses and contributes to three Republican primary candidates for elected office in 2016. The John Bolton PAC has donated $5,000 to the campaigns of Senators John McCain (AZ), Mark Kirk (IL), and Representative Joe Heck (NV-3). These contributions are to make sure each candidate has the support they need for reelection to Congress, while pushing for strong national security policies that will protect Americans.

"In the wake of today's global security crisis, we need strong and well-informed candidates who understand the reality of the world we live in, and who will stand to fight ISIL and other threats to our country," Ambassador Bolton said. "I'm glad to endorse and support these candidates for reelection who will ensure foreign policy is a priority in Congress."

On Senator McCain: "John's military background makes him the right leader to represent Arizona in the U.S. Senate. I believe John will keep working diligently to improve the readiness and training of our U.S. Armed Forces."

On Senator Kirk: "Mark served in the Navy Reserve for 25 years as an intelligence officer and retired with the rank of commander. As the Chairman of the Military Construction and Veterans Affairs Subcommittee, Mark understands the importance of allocating federal funds to provide the needed resources for America's security and future. I look forward to seeing Mark continue to fight the war on terror and protect American interests."

On Congressman Heck: "As the Chairman of the Military Personnel Subcommittee of the House Armed Services Committee and a member of the House Permanent Committee of Intelligence, Joe understands the dangers our nation faces. I trust Joe's commitment to a strong military and making the U.S. a safer country."

During the 2014 election cycle, the John Bolton PAC and John Bolton SuperPAC collectively raised over $7.5 million, endorsed 87 Republican candidates across the country and contributed more than $470,000 to candidates who demonstrated commitment to strong national security policy. Additionally, the Bolton SuperPAC executed an extensive $5 million digital ad campaign that was implemented in 14 states, including robust efforts in New Hampshire, Iowa, Arkansas, and North Carolina.
