Westfield Health and Rehabilitation Offering Additional Acupuncture Appointments

WESTFIELD, N.J., Oct. 25, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Westfield Health and Rehabilitation is now offering extended hours for patients seeking acupuncture treatments. Shara Resende, licensed acupuncturist at the Westfield, New Jersey, wellness clinic, is now available for appointments between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. each Monday. This comes in addition to her previously scheduled hours at the clinic on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Dr. Todd Carnucci, clinical director and CEO of Westfield Health and Rehabilitation, said the increased hours show that the chiropractic, rehabilitation and physical therapy center in Westfield, New Jersey, tries to be responsive to the needs and schedules of patients. Carnucci, Resende and the rest of the Westfield Health and Rehabilitation are willing to do what they can to help local area residents become more healthy, mobile and pain free.

“Whether someone is seeking acupuncture, physical therapy or chiropractic care, we’re happy to put a plan together,” Dr. Carnucci said. “Our patients have nothing but good things to say about Shara Resende’s treatments, so it’s encouraging she has made more room in her already quite busy schedule to add more appointments.”

Acupuncturist Shara Resende blends a background in traditional Chinese medicine with modern standard therapies to help patients achieve their wellness goals, reduce pain or improve their lives. Acupuncture and herbology are both ways to restore energetic balance and achieve optimal health.

Over the years, she has worked with hundreds of patients to relieve pain without the use of medications. She credits acupuncture and other methods with aiding in the treatment of arthritis, fibromyalgia, neuralgia, migraines and general headaches.

In her experience, acupuncture has shown to be a useful tool for many disorders and imbalances in people’s lives, including everything from diabetes to insomnia. Other research has credited acupuncture with helping with skin problems such as psoriasis and acne, plus improving PMS, fertility and digestive issues like irritable bowel syndrome.

Acupuncture can also be effective for treating chronic pain and for supporting the body’s natural healing and rehabilitation process after an injury. Some patients experience relief after a few sessions, others include acupuncture as part of an extended treatment plan.

“At Westfield Health and Rehabilitation, we offer acupuncture, chiropractic care and physical therapy treatments to help manage a wide variety of conditions,” states Dr. Carnucci. “These methods can be combined to offer pain relief and improved overall wellness without the need for medication or corrective surgery.”

He said the staff is always happy to talk with anyone about health options and put a treatment plan together, whether someone is suffering from muscle pain, has sports injuries or chronic conditions like headaches or migraines. Consultations are always free.
