SoldierStrong Celebrates Continued Growth and Honors Notable Supporters at 2nd Annual Gala

Gala to Mark First Ever Under Nonprofit's New Name, Which Reflects Its Evolved Commitment to Providing Cutting-Edge Medical Technologies to Injured Veterans


STAMFORD, Conn., Nov. 3, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- SoldierStrong (previously known as SoldierSocks), a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing advanced medical technologies to veterans, announced today that it will honor notable supporters at its Annual Awards Gala, scheduled to take place on Thursday, November 5, 2015, at 6:30 p.m. at The New York Yacht Club in New York, NY. To recognize their work advancing available care to injured veterans, SoldierStrong will present Commitment to Service Awards to Alex Gorsky, CEO of Johnson & Johnson, a former U.S. Army Ranger and current mentor for military veterans transitioning to civilian life, and Elvis Duran, of Z100 radio station's Elvis Duran & The Morning Show. The Corporate Leadership Award will be presented to global entertainment company WWE®.

SoldierStrong is focused on providing cutting-edge medical devices to injured service members to get back on their feet and take steps toward a more independent and productive future. Founded as SoldierSocks in 2009 to provide clean socks and other necessities to soldiers deployed overseas during the Gulf Wars, the organization expanded its efforts following the events of September 11th, 2001 to include helping injured first responders.
