Next Stop: the Emerald City! Spirit Airlines Announces New Service to Seattle-Tacoma

New Non-Stop Service to Start March 2016

MIRAMAR, Fla., Nov. 5, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Space Needle, Puget Sound, the Pike Place Market, and now…Spirit Airlines! Seattle-Tacoma's newest airline is giving flyers in the Emerald City more green for takeoff. Spirit Airlines announced today that Seattle-Tacoma will join its growing route network, with new service to two cities this coming spring. Twice-daily nonstop service to Los Angeles starts on March 24, 2016, followed by twice-daily service to Las Vegas beginning on April 14, 2016. Connections will be available to an additional 15 cities via Las Vegas and Los Angeles. So save your cash for the casinos of Vegas or a trip down Rodeo Drive, and buy your tickets now for a lot less money than on other airlines.

"Seattle-Tacoma is the perfect new city to expand our growing network," said Mark Kopczak, Vice President of Network Planning for Spirit Airlines. "Spirit's super low Bare Fares™, with Frill Control™ allows customers to choose only those extras they want to pay for and gives them the most control over their travel budget. By saving on travel, our customers have more money left over for when they get to their destination."

From Los Angeles, Spirit flies nonstop to 14 cities, including Atlanta, Baltimore/Washington DC, Chicago, Cleveland, Dallas/Fort Worth, Denver, Detroit, Fort Lauderdale, Houston, Kansas City, Las Vegas, Minneapolis-St. Paul, Oakland/San Francisco (starting November 12, 2015), and Seattle-Tacoma (starting March 24, 2016).

From Las Vegas, Spirit flies nonstop to 19 cities, including Atlanta, Baltimore/Washington DC, Boston, Chicago, Cleveland, Dallas/Fort Worth, Denver, Detroit, Fort Lauderdale, Houston, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Minneapolis-St. Paul, New Orleans (starting November 13, 2015), Oakland/San Francisco, Philadelphia, Portland (OR), San Diego, and Seattle-Tacoma (starting April 14, 2016).

"It is a testament to the strengths of the Seattle market that a successful airline like Spirit made its decision to enter into Seattle and bring new ways of travel for our travelers," said Port of Seattle CEO Ted Fick. "I applaud the bold, new style of this airline, and it will be a unique addition to our airport."
