Main Street Wellness Offering New Weight Loss Program

NASHUA, N.H., Nov. 08, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Main Street Wellness is offering a new, natural weight loss program.  The WLC program works without drugs, surgery, or starvation tactics. Their new program works with the body's natural rhythms to maximize weight loss without intense exercise routines or chemical treatments.

Obesity is a growing problem throughout the United States. More than 34 percent of Americans are considered obese. While obesity alone does not cause death, obesity is a contributing factor to diseases such as heart disease, diabetes, cancer, strokes and heart attacks which often prove fatal. Obesity also negatively impacts the nation's bottom line. Health care costs are significantly higher for obese adults than their normal weight peers. In the United States alone, the estimated cost of obesity is over $147 billion each year.

Dr. Jerrilyn Sullivan of Main Street Wellness and Chiropractic has seen the impact of obesity on her own chiropractic practice. "For our patients, weight loss can be a struggle. They know that carrying extra weight is unhealthy and that it can severely impact their health. They want to lose the weight but often feel like there is nothing that they can do."

Main Street Wellness and Chiropractic's Dr. Taryn Terry added, "Obesity is definitely a problem and some feel like the only way to overcome it is through surgery. We are excited that our new natural weight loss program is proving successful with our patients without the use of medications, surgery, or non-sustainable heavy exercise programs. We feel it is a program that our patients can be successful with, no matter their age or condition."

The new program is showing immediate signs of success. Before this option, the clinic's patients typically chose one of two unsuccessful paths to weight loss: enrolling in a mainstream diet program or engaging in a starvation diet. According to Dr. Sullivan, "The problem with the mainstream diets is that they take too long to achieve modest results which are extremely demotivating.  A starvation diet, on the other hand, may yield immediate results but is not sustainable and very unhealthy. Patients typically gain back all the weight they lost."

With the WLC Program, patients have reported weight loss of 8 to 15 pounds in the first 10 days of the program. They have then sustained steady weight loss for the duration of the program. Participants eat their own food and there are no expensive prepackaged foods or shakes involved.
