ALM Media and LexisNexis Expand Strategic Relationship Through New Content Agreement

Agreement Provides Exclusive Third-Party Aggregation Rights for Critical Legal News and Information

NEW YORK, Nov. 09, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- ALM, a leader in specialized news and information for the legal, consulting, insurance, finance and real estate industries, and LexisNexis® Legal & Professional, a leading global provider of content and technology solutions, today announced a new content licensing agreement moving beyond what was executed between the two companies in 2011. The new agreement lays the groundwork for expanding the integration of ALM content within LexisNexis legal research solutions.

The agreement deepens the strategic relationship between ALM and LexisNexis, ensuring the continued availability of archived ALM legal news and information from trusted brands such as The American Lawyer, Corporate Counsel, The National Law Journal, Legaltech News, New York Law Journal and more through LexisNexis services.

“We know that our customers start their day with a scan of ALM legal headlines delivered to their inboxes—for LexisNexis customers, this will be a seamless experience to engage with news and instantly link to case law, briefs, and analysis the minute they see a news article relevant to an active case,” said Lenny Izzo, President of Legal Media at ALM.

The agreement also opens up more opportunities for direct integration of ALM content into LexisNexis legal research solutions. Most immediately, the way ALM content is delivered through LexisNexis® Newsdesk, a market-leading media-monitoring and market intelligence solution, will be streamlined so it is delivered directly from ALM – meaning more convenient and efficient access to more than 3,000 pieces of original news reporting and other content from ALM media brands each month.

Also included in the agreement is an ALM custom event series providing LexisNexis customers exclusive access to turnkey solutions that bring together law firms and their clients to discuss emerging practice and business challenges informed by ALM industry research and analysis.

“LexisNexis is committed to providing the very best legal and news content to its customers, so we are excited to take our relationship with ALM to the next level by extending and enhancing how ALM legal journalism is integrated with our industry-leading research solutions and creating new opportunities for firms and their clients to connect around the news and issues driving the practice of law today,” said Sean Fitzpatrick, managing director of North American Research Solutions at LexisNexis Legal & Professional.

Additional product integrations are underway. These include creating live links to Lexis Advance for case law references within ALM online publications and the availability of a single sign-on solution that will enable customers to enter one name and password to access all of their LexisNexis and ALM content.
