The Semper Fi Fund & The Bob & Renee Parsons Foundation & GoDaddy Announce "10 Makes 20 Matching Challenge"

All Donations Through December 31 Will Be Matched — Potential $20 Million to Help Wounded, Critically Ill and Injured Service Members

NEW YORK, Nov. 10, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Bob & Renee Parsons Foundation, with support from GoDaddy, has announced the 10 Makes 20 Challenge - one of the largest matching campaigns in the history of veteran nonprofits. Through December 31, 2015, donations made to the Semper Fi Fund and America’s Fund will be matched by The Bob & Renee Parsons Foundation, dollar-for-dollar, up to a total of $10 million. Combined with the match, a potential $20 million can be raised for the Semper Fi Fund’s mission to help wounded, critically ill and injured service members and their families from all branches of the U.S. armed services.

“I am stunned and humbled by the generosity of Bob and Renee Parsons,” said Semper Fi Fund CEO and Chairman Karen Guenther. “The impact the donation will have on our ability to serve those who have served us goes far beyond anything I can imagine.”

“It is a genuine honor and privilege to help support the critical work of the Semper Fi Fund,” said entrepreneur and philanthropist Bob Parsons. “The 10 Makes 20 Challenge is about getting the community involved, raising awareness and ultimately providing much-needed support to those who have made huge sacrifices to protect the freedoms we enjoy.”

Parsons, best-known as the founder of GoDaddy, is a U.S. Marine Corps Vietnam veteran who received the Purple Heart, the Combat Action Ribbon and the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry. This marks the fourth annual matching challenge made by The Bob & Renee Parsons Foundation on behalf of the Semper Fi Fund. Beginning in 2012, the Foundation’s match helped raise a total of $2 million the first year, $5 million the second year and $12 million the third year. With the Parsons raising the bar yet again in 2015, they hope to help Semper Fi Fund raise a total of $20 million.

“This campaign represents a significant opportunity for every donor to double the impact of their gift, providing much needed support for the Semper Fi Fund,” said Renee Parsons. “Every little bit helps, and no donation is too small to make a difference in the lives of veterans and their families.”

Once again this year, GoDaddy, the world’s largest technology provider dedicated to small businesses, is stepping up to help. GoDaddy is donating $50,000, and also leveraging its marketing muscle to promote the Semper Fi Fund drive online. GoDaddy customers are helping as well, as they have in years past, by donating via the Round Up campaign. GoDaddy customers who purchase products during this time can elect to “Round Up for Charity” when checking out at GoDaddy.com. By selecting the Semper Fi Fund as the beneficiary, GoDaddy customers can effectively donate their spare change to the challenge.

“We are grateful to our GoDaddy customers and employees who have been quick to support the Semper Fi Fund over the years,” said GoDaddy Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer Scott Wagner. “It is so important to honor our current and past service men and women. In addition to their courageous dedication and honorable service to our country, we value the exemplary qualities they bring to the workforce.”

Donations to the 10 Makes 20 Challenge can be made at semperfifund.org/match or americasfund.org/match. To find out more about The Bob & Renee Parsons Foundation visit TBRPF.org. To find out more about GoDaddy’s corporate and social responsibility history visit www.GoDaddyCares.com.
