Dahya, who was the CEO of Verian, a leading cloud-based solution provider that Basware recently acquired, will provide the executive leadership and strategic and operational direction to support the company's accelerated growth plans throughout North America.

Dahya's appointment follows Basware's acquisition of Verian, which was announced on March 31 of this year. The acquisition further strengthens Basware's market position in the U.S. and supports Basware's strategy to grow its cloud-based business revenues in key markets. Verian brings new cloud-based customers and added e-procurement capabilities to Basware's portfolio. The acquisition enables Verian customers to leverage the power of Basware's world's largest open commerce and financing network and its market-leading financing services offering.
Dahya has spent almost two decades working in the supply chain, wholesale distribution, healthcare Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) and purchase-to-pay arenas. As co-founder and CEO of Verian, Dahya had successfully led Verian from a start-up to an industry leader. Prior to Verian, Dahya, a serial entrepreneur, co-founded Eastern Medical and Surgical, an independent medical and surgical supply distribution company focused on acute, long-term and alternative care. He helped grow Eastern Medical from a start-up to the largest independent distributor of medical supplies in the Carolinas prior to selling the company to Henry Schein (Nasdaq: HSIC). Concurrently with Eastern Medical, Dahya also co-founded HealthNet, an Internet-based healthcare registry which he grew and sold to Palmetto Richland Memorial Hospital System in the Carolinas.
Dahya's extensive knowledge and industry experience has made him a sought-after expert and thought leader. He has presented at major industry events such as ePurchasing Week, Supply Chain Expo, iSource and others. Dahya holds a bachelor's degree in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering from Queen's University in Canada and an MBA from the Darla Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina.
