PositiveID to Present at the 2016 Marcum MicroCap Conference on June 1st

DELRAY BEACH, Fla., May 26, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- PositiveID Corporation (“PositiveID” or “Company”) (OTCQB:PSID), a life sciences company focused on detection and diagnostics, announced today that Chairman and CEO William J. Caragol will present at the 2016 Marcum MicroCap Conference on June 1, 2016 at 2:30 pm ET, at the Grand Hyatt in New York City.

Caragol will provide an update on PositiveID’s molecular diagnostics business including its Firefly Dx real-time pathogen detection system; E-N-G Mobile Systems, its mobile labs business; and Thermomedics, its medical device business, which markets the Caregiver® FDA-cleared, non-contact thermometer.

PositiveID’s Firefly Dx is a point-of-need, handheld system designed to deliver molecular diagnostic results from a sample in less than 30 minutes, compared to hours or even days for a lab device, using real-time PCR (polymerase chain reaction) chemistry. The Company announced yesterday that the Firefly Dx PCR breadboard prototype pathogen detection system successfully detected the Zika virus. Firefly's applications include point-of-need, lab-quality, detection of pathogenic organisms; agricultural and food screening in both domestic sectors and developing countries; and detection of biological agents associated with weapons of mass destruction.
