Daugavpils, 2016-05-30 16:38 CEST (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- In our judgment, the press article is connected with the start of electioneering of one of the Saeima deputies from the opposition party having an aim to discredit the company and cause damage to the economy of Latvia, to receive votes at the local election in 2017.
The government, the city mayor’s office and the shareholders support the plant in their investments and searching for new orders.
Within the recent three years, JSC ''Daugavpils Lokomotīvju Remonta Rūpnīca'', with support of the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia, made large investments into the modernization of machinery equipment of the company, repair of production facilities and plant’s infrastructure. The new modern equipment was commissioned and is successfully functioning; the old one is gradually removed from the production cycle. New machine tools and automated technologies on the level of the best world standards do not require so many workers, which used to be employed to work with the old equipment.
Besides the volume drop is observed in one of the types of activity at JSC ''Daugavpils Lokomotīvju Remonta Rūpnīca'', which is repair of locomotives. Due to this, slight optimization of the number of workers in this subsection has taken place.
Likewise, to optimize the expenses, a decision was made to more actively use outsourcing and refuse from non-profile activity of the company. Due to this, new work places were established in the city. Reorganization has affected also the administrative body of JSC ''Daugavpils Lokomotīvju Remonta Rūpnīca''. There has been no collective dismissal at JSC ''Daugavpils Lokomotīvju Remonta Rūpnīca'', and it is not planned.
The Council and the Board of the plant, with full support of shareholders, implement all required measures for stable development of the company in difficult macroeconomical and political conditions.
