(NASDAQ:DSPG) a leading global provider of wireless chipset solutions for converged communications, announced today that Smarte, one of the first and most innovative Turkish technology companies, has selected DSP Group's advanced ULE (Ultra Low Energy) SoC (System-on-a-Chip) solution for its new smart home suite of products.
The new solutions give customers the ability to remotely control their home heating and cooling systems, as well as simplify their daily life. The system provides a simple way for anyone to link the smart devices in their home, including a combi boiler, infrared controls and temperature sensors, and control them from one app on a tablet or smartphone. The devices are connected to the centralized Smarte Gateway located on-premises. Once connected to the gateway, these nodes become IoT-enabled smart devices that can be switched on and off remotely, and the mobile app can easily track daily habits and develop user preferences based on particular behaviors and data analysis.

For the system, Smarte has integrated ULE using DSP Group’s DHAN-S module which offers application developers a turn-key platform for ULE nodes, whether battery- or AC-powered. Built around the company’s DHX91 chipset, DSP Group’s DHAN-S module is easily integrated into the smallest of smart home nodes. The module can serve as a wireless connectivity channel for an application running on an external microcontroller unit (MCU) or can act as a standalone solution using the DHX91’s internal ARM926® processor.
Smarte is leveraging key ULE attributes including high fidelity, superior range, two-way real-time audio and video, as well as ultra-low power consumption, which allows battery-operated devices to work for years.
