Wall Street Journal Launches CMO Network

Founding Members Convened For Exclusive Event During Cannes Lions

LONDON, June 22, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Wall Street Journal has expanded its suite of executive memberships with the launch of CMO Network. This exclusive, invitation only membership network will connect the world’s most ambitious and influential CMOs to discuss topics and issues shaping the ever changing marketing and branding landscape.

To mark the launch of CMO Network, Gerard Baker, Editor in Chief of The Wall Street Journal, hosted a private dinner last night in Cannes, France. Attendees included executives from CMO Network member companies, such as Accenture, Burberry, Diageo, Facebook, Google, Lexus, Neustar, P&G, Samsung and Unilever.

“A little more than two years ago, the Journal launched CMO Today, a digital destination focused on addressing the rapidly transforming marketing and advertising industries,” said Gerard Baker, Editor in Chief, The Wall Street Journal. “The CMO Network expands on that mission by assembling business leaders and brand visionaries to identify and assess the challenges and opportunities within the global marketplace, through the lens of the Journal’s reporting.”

“Today’s marketers are redefining the traditional CMO role as they work alongside their commercial and operational C-Suite colleagues to drive innovation and, most significantly, profits,” said Katie Vanneck-Smith, Chief Customer Officer and Managing Director, International, Dow Jones. “The Wall Street Journal’s CMO Network celebrates that intersection of creativity and business while giving members access to the incomparable tools that will sharpen their competitive edge - the Journal’s award winning reporting and analysis.”

The Wall Street Journal has complete coverage of Cannes Lions in a worldwide special report, published today, in print as well as on WSJ.com.
